Self-Hypnosis for Empowerment and Change

Do you want to make a change in your life? Perhaps you want to change your eating patterns so you can lose some weight. Or you might want to increase your confidence level so you can speak in public settings comfortably or take tests without stress. Maybe you want relief from pain.

Self-Hypnosis

Stress is a topic of its own. It is complicit in so many problems and syndromes. Stress causes weight gain, increases the perception of pain, compromises the immune system, and much, much more. Would you like to be able to decrease your stress levels at any time and in any place?

In the same way, would you like to be able to manage your pain? Pain is debilitating, affecting every area of our lives. What would your life be like without chronic pain or intrusive migraines?

And what would your life be like if you could get in touch with your Higher Power? Your inner wisdom? What would it be like to have a deepened spiritual practice? Perhaps you meditate — or would like to; perhaps you pray — or would like to. But something’s in the way of developing that practice or of enhancing it.

Hypnosis Is Hope

Hypnosis provides hope for change in all the areas mentioned above and many others. Afraid of taking tests? Hypnosis can help. Want to improve your golf game? Hypnosis can help. Want to lose weight, quit smoking, stop being anxious and afraid, improve your spiritual life? Hypnosis can help.

Hypnosis is really very simple. You just go into a state of calm, peaceful, aware relaxation. You are in control. Indeed, you are actually more in control than when fully conscious since you’re in a state of focused concentration. No one makes you do or say anything; you decide.

Decisions — your decisions — are what hypnosis is really all about. It is our conscious minds that make decisions; it is, unfortunately it often seems, our subconscious minds that implement those decisions. Or not.
You see, our conscious minds control only about 12% of our behavior; our subconscious minds control the remaining 88%. Hypnosis enables us to affect consciously the subconscious mind, which means we can take control of the 88%!

Willpower, reason, logic, desire — they’re all part of the 12%. Fears, contradictory thinking, childhood patterns, limiting beliefs — they are part of the 88%. So — what if you could talk to and harness the power of that 88%? Think of the changes you could make in your life!

Self-Hypnosis Is Empowerment

I’m a hypnotherapist; I hypnotize people and use their words, and their hope for positive changes, to bring their subconscious in alignment with their conscious desires. I deal with all kinds of issues and all kinds of people. Even those who think they can’t be hypnotized. We all actually go in and out of hypnosis throughout the day, so everyone can be hypnotized!

But in the final analysis, we hypnotize ourselves, and we know what we need to say and think and visualize and feel to effect real, positive, permanent change. I teach you in this workshop techniques to bring yourself into hypnosis on purpose and to create affirmations and self-talk that are most effective in working with the subconscious.

These techniques are unobtrusive. You can use them at any time and in any place. Getting anxious at the supermarket? Developing a migraine at work? Take a brief moment to enact certain proven procedures to bring yourself back to comfortable, functional equilibrium.

Be empowered!

You will sleep better, which will lead to all kinds of positive changes in itself! You will feel more confident because you’re taking active steps to develop and grow. You will radically decrease stress, which will strengthen your immune system, deepen your sleep, improve your overall health and sense of well-being, and more.

According to the NIMH, “Over time, continued strain on your body from routine stress may contribute to serious health problems, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other illnesses, as well as mental disorders like depression or anxiety.” Make no mistake, stress is a killer. Hypnosis can help; self-hypnosis can help.

You Can Change

You can change. We all can. As human beings, we have infinite potential for change and growth. But it’s not willpower that will help us make the important, permanent changes. If it were all a matter of willpower, there would not be an obesity, or a smoking, or a drug problem in the United States today.
We are not defective in any way.

We are simply allowing ourselves to be controlled by our subconscious minds rather than taking charge ourselves and bringing the considerable power of our conscious to bear on the workings of the subconscious.

The only limits? What you want! Anything you want badly enough can be yours. But you do need to want it and believe it possible. Do you truly want to lose weight or be pain-free or improve your spiritual life? Enough to make the necessary positive changes? Then success can be yours.

What You’ll Learn

We’ll start with a thorough introduction to hypnosis because it’s important to have a context and a foundation in this field. You’ll go through several guided hypnosis sessions and perform several mindfulness exercises. Then — you will learn how to put yourself into hypnosis.

We’ll also spend some time learning about and discussing how to create affirmations and suggestions that are best processed by the subconscious. “I will not smoke” is completely different — to the subconscious — from “I am smoke-free.”

The former is situated in some unspecified future, which the subconscious doesn’t even recognize. And since the subconscious does not process negatives, it actually tells the subconscious that I will smoke. Especially so since the last word is ‘smoke’, which now is the salient word.

The latter affirmation is processed by the subconscious the way we intend it. I am in this very present, which is all we have and is therefore for all time, smoke free, with the emphasis on ‘free’. To the subconscious, it is a much more powerful and accurate statement.

There will be plenty of time for questions and for individual attention in the context of the group setting. You will leave feeling confident in your ability to chart the course of your life, using self-hypnosis as a tool, by integrating your conscious and subconscious minds.

You are empowered!
